Dan Owen, a husky voiced 24-year old singer/songwriter from Shrewsbury is back with a brand new single called ‘Made To Love You’.
The emotional ballad comes from a personal place, and the singer has a hard hitting message to relay. The song derives from Dan’s experience supporting a friend of his who was suffering in an abusive relationship. ‘Made To Love You’ examines what keeps people together, yet drives them apart.
Dan’s haunting vocals make the lyrics even more poignant.
But if I was made to love you, then how can you bring me pain?
And if I was made to love you, how come we’re here again?
And why does it hurt so bad if I was made to love you?
Dan first rose to prominence after becoming an overnight viral sensation on Reddit. A random audience member uploaded a video of him performing Bob Dylan’s ‘The Ballad Of Hollis Brown’ on the site, and the rest is history.
Dan has been honing his craft with numerous live performances. Despite his young age, he has become a seasoned veteran of the road. He recently completed a 30-date European tour supporting Birdy, and will tour again with her later this year.
In fact, Dan has a big fan in Birdy. She finished every date of her tour by inviting him on stage to duet on her hit ‘Let It All Go’!
If you fancy catching Dan live soon, he will be headlining London’s St Pancras Old Church on September 7 as part of the release of his upcoming EP Open Hands And Enemies. ‘Made To Love You’ is the first track from the EP, and will be released on August 12. The entire EP will follow on September 12.
We’re really rooting for Dan. He has a voice beyond his years, and his truthful, heart-rending music is bound to touch a nerve with many. Listen out for Dan Owen, we’re sure his music will be widely heard over the next few months.
