Cardiff City Have Sacked Paul Trollope

Cardiff City FC have today decided to sack head coach Paul Trollope with immediate effect!

Chief Executive Ken Choo decided to wield the axe after a terrible start to the new Championship season, where Paul Trollope only managed two wins from eleven matches.

Cardiff City are currently bottom of the league after their dire start.

A club statement regarding Paul Trollope’s sacking said:

“We’d like to thank Paul for his efforts and wish him the very best of luck for the future.

“Assistant coach Lennie Lawrence and performance director Ryland Morgans have also left the club with our best wishes. An announcement regarding Paul’s successor will be made in due course.”

Neil Warnock is currently the bookies favourite to take over at Cardiff.

After Cardiff lost 2-0 to Burton last weekend Trollope had admitted that he hoped he would get the time to turn the clubs fortune around; “I certainly hope I’ll get time. I’ve received great support so far, the results haven’t been good enough.

“I hold my hand up there. It’s certainly not we’ve worked so, so hard for or expected.”

Before joining Cardiff City Paul Trollope had spent five years at Bristol Rovers before leaving in 2010 and he took over at Cardiff in May. Along with the string of bad results in the league he also oversaw a 1-0 defeat in the EFL Cup at the hands of his old club.

Cardiff City will take on Bristol City on October 14 when the Championship resumes following the international break.
